The Lakers ended the season on a disappointing note by being swept by the Dallas Mavericks. Changes need to be made and adding Dwight Howard and Chris Paul is a great way to revamp the Lakers roster.
Here's how Lakers management can make it happen.
LA Lakers-Orlando Magic
Trade: C Andrew Bynum, F Ron Artest, 2012 1st Round and 2013 2nd Round Draft Picks to the Orlando Magic
Receive: C Dwight Howard, G/F Quentin Richardson
Once Superman demands a trade from the Magic, this trade is very possible. The Magic get an up-and-coming player in Andrew who has won two NBA titles and is on the verge of becoming an All-Star while Artest helps them defensively.
The Lakers get a 4-time All-NBA 1st teamer and MVP caliber-player in Howard and a nice shooter in Q. Dwight might look mad in these pictures, but he will be happy as can be if he becomes a Laker.
LA Lakers-New Orleans
Trade: F Lamar Odom, F Luke Walton, G Steve Blake, 2012 2nd Round and 2013 1st Round Draft Picks to the New Orleans Hornets
Receive: G Chris Paul, C David Andersen
CP3 will have to demand a trade like he did last summer for this transaction to occur, but who wouldn't want to come and play in LA?
Hornets get a versatile Sixth Man of the Year in Lamar Odom, a good backup point guard in Steve Blake, and an expendable (I tried to put it as nicely as possible) player.
Lakers get a phenomenal guard, that's an understatement, in Chris Paul who can initiate the offense and get plenty of steals. He will make the game so much easier for his teammates on offense and can pass to a shooting big man in Andersen.
The Hornets might have too many front-court players, but they can trade either David West for a guard or not re-sign Carl Landry. Also, the Hornets will have to sign one less free agent to have the trade go through the league.
Lakers Roster after the Trades:
Starting Lineup:
PG Chris Paul
SG Kobe Bryant
SF Matt Barnes
PF Pau Gasol
C Dwight Howard
Bench:
G Derek Fisher
G Shannon Brown
G/F Quentin Richardson
F Devin Ebanks
F/C Derrick Caracter
C David Andersen
Lakers might have to sign a few D-Leaguers like Trey Johnson or draft a big man in the second round of the draft, but look at this team. I think it's a lot better than the Lakers with Gary Payton, Kobe Bryant, Karl Malone, and Shaquille O'Neal.
CP3 and DH12 are entering the prime of their careers and Kobe and Pau are... Kobe and Pau. If Mitch Kupchak can make this happen, a new DYNASTY will be formed.
those trades are pretty good but do you think that the magic will accept howard for bynum straight up without giving up artest?
ReplyDeleteit depends when the trade goes down and how healthy bynum is at the time. but bynum could end up better than dwight and is younger, so the magic might do a straight swap if dwight wants out of orlando that badly.
ReplyDeletenice combination los angeles lakers.. my dwigth na my cp3 pa..
ReplyDeleteyup dwight,cp3, pau, and kb24 would be a dream team. much better than the heat!
